Richard Bernecker (a.k.a. "Bernie") & the 1999 Iron Butt Motorcycle Rally Richard Bernecker is setting off on an adventure this summer, one that very few riders have attempted and even fewer have completed. To successfully run the Iron Butt Motorcycle Rally a rider will have to ride an estimated 1,000 miles a day for eleven days straight. To accomplish this, Richard has set up one of the meanest, high-tech touring motorcycles around. He has been getting in shape both physically and mentally, and is counting down the days to August 30th, Iron Butt zero day. Part of this site is dedicated to Richard's bike, the amazing "Rolling Bordello" (a.k.a. Kismet), and part to recognizing those that have decided to help Richard keep his mind on the Rally and off of the bottom line by donating gas fill-ups, motel rooms, equipment and/or gear. If you would like to help out too, please e-mail Richard! |
